Our face and our body are not the only ones that need a scrub from time to time to remove dead skin and regain radiance and softness. It also helps to better define the contour of the lips and helps make-up hold better. No need to spend a fortune on beauty products, everything you need is already in the kitchen cupboards.
To make your own lip scrub, you can use honey, sugar, baking soda, olive or coconut oil… only natural and inexpensive ingredients. The principle is simple: mix a tablespoon of honey to nourish the skin with two or three spoons (depending on the degree of exfoliation you want) of sugar or baking soda to exfoliate well and with a spoon of oil (olive or coconut) ) to hydrate.
A nourished and hydrated mouth
If you are using coconut oil, melt it for a few seconds in a double boiler or microwave and wait for it to cool before applying it to your lips. Mix everything in a container until you obtain a homogeneous paste.
Apply a small amount with your fingertips or with a toothbrush on your mouth in circular motions for a few minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. The result: a clean, nourished, and hydrated mouth.
Hot water for sensitive skin
For a gourmet and fragrant touch, you can choose colored and flavored sugars or add a few drops of vanilla, rose, or orange blossom extract to your scrub. This preparation can be stored for two to three weeks in the fridge, making sure to mix it well before each use.
For the most sensitive who do not wish to “sand” their lips with sugar, there is a gentler and just as effective variant: soak a cotton ball in hot water and place it on your mouth for a few minutes. Gently rub with a cotton swab to remove dead skin.
