Since 2009, the association e-Enfance manages the national assistance platform Net Listen to 0 800 200 000. To respond to the increase in cyberviolence observed since the start of the pandemic, the Secretary of State in charge of Children wished to develop this platform to respond to new challenges related to digital violence.
The number of the Net Ecoute platform thus becomes the 3018, number which claims to be the “single point of entry for adolescents, parents and their children, on all questions related to the digital uses of young people”.
Free and anonymous, this shorter number is accessible by phone 6 days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., on the 3018.fr site by live chat, but also via theMessenger application from Facebook or via WhatsApp.
In which cases should I contact 3018?
The issues covered are diverse: “cyber harassment, revenge porn, webcam blackmail, overexposure to screens, video games, exposure to violent & pornographic content, parental control, account settings on social networks or even account hacking, identity theft”, Lists the Secretary of State for Children in a press release.
At the end of the line or the chat, psychologists, lawyers, and digital specialists, trained in protection of minors on the web. These can intervene in particular at the request of young victims of cyber violence or of their parents to remove content that would harm them. The goal is also, of course, to welcome and listen to the victim, before directing him to the competent authorities.
