Fear of giving birth can increase labor time up to 3/4 of an hour. So, better to do everything to make it go well!
On the big day, you can practice two exercises that make your work easier :
- A breathing exercise: the straw of calm
– We inhale while trying to inflate the belly, even if we do not really notice it!
– And we breathe out very slowly through the mouth, as if we were blowing into a small straw, so that the expulsion of the air lasts as long as possible. At the end of the day, you also think of contracting your abdominals to promote the birth of your child.
- A visualization exercise: the progress of her baby
In order to stay focused on labor and support its progress, you can visualize the progress of your baby in the womb with each contraction. Imagining that her baby is working with us, can avoid making us lose footing, or demotivating us.
