“Bearing Enchanted” is a natural way to prepare yourself physically and mentally for childbirth. She permits better pain and stress management during labor, and it relies on adjusted vocal expression.
It was developed by Magali Dieux *, singing teacher, and mother of five children.
Used since 2008 in the medical world, it has just been labeled by the Pertuis maternity hospital in Vaucluse, where it is systematically offered to future mothers.
In addition, since January 2015, a research protocol on this method has been underway under the high authority of the Foch hospital in Suresnes.
Bring a little humanity into the workroom
In France, future mothers are perfectly well medically assisted for their childbirth. ” It’s certain, confirms Magali Dieux, creator of the Naître Enchantés method. And if there is no question of refusing progress, it is important, precisely because childbirth is very medicalized, to supplement it with human support. ”
What does the Naître Enchantés method consist of?
“Pregnant women learn, during workshops, to make chest vibrations that mix low and high sounds. This allows you to vibrate for a very long time, without getting tired, and to give energy. “
It is therefore a work on the breath and the voice. ” Exactly, confirms Magali Dieux. But it is important to learn it because, in case of fear, the expectant mother tends to emit only serious vibrations which may tire her and, conversely, if her vibrations are too sharp, they provide too much. the energy which can trigger a nervous breakdown. ”
Pain is reduced
“Some women start the vibrations at the start of labor,” explains Magali Dieux, “but they are especially effective when the pain of contractions increases. The vibrations oxygenate the body, which allows the woman to pass through the uterine contraction. Childbirth then takes place in relaxation and serenity. ”
The midwives who accompany women practicing the Naître Enchantés method also observe a reduced labor time.
The benefits of these vibrations benefit not only the woman who gives birth but also her baby. “The latter is more serene at birth, and in the months that follow, when at the end of the day, the infant is tired and grumpy, the parents just need to re-vibrate so that it calms down”. According to scientist Marie-Claire Busnel, “It is thanks to his fetal memory”.
Fathers, stakeholders in childbirth
The vibrations aren’t just for expectant mothers. Fathers can also practice them. “They are also very fond of it, specifies Magali Dieux, because they become active participants. They support their wives, especially when they have an epidural or a cesarean, that she relaxes, rests thanks to the anesthesia, while the baby is still in the storm of birth. By vibrating, the father maintains the link. ”
