The summer season is associated with moments of relaxation in the sun, aperitifs on the terrace, holidays, and a host of small pleasures. But there is one detail that we could do without the makeup that runs off due to the high heat and humidity. Here are some tips for not looking like a panda at the end of the day.
Moisturize the skin
The cleansing and skincare routine remains essential, even in summer. Going without a moisturizer can cause excess sebum, dilation of the pores, shine… that’s all we try to avoid. Go for a product with a light texture and apply it sparingly.
The BB, CC or DD creams are a good option because they nourish, protect from the sun, hydrate and camouflage blemishes. Check that they contain a high SPF (sun protection factor) and that the color is suitable for your skin tone.
If you are afraid that this base is not enough, you can opt for fixatives. There are all types, to be applied on the lips, eyelids, or face. A little sunshine soil will allow you to finalize your look while letting the skin breathe.
Make up the eyes
The best option is to avoid eye shadow and settle for a layer of waterproof mascara, but if smoky makeup is essential for you, be sure to apply an eyelid primer. In addition to waterproof mascara, if you’re worried that it won’t hold up, you can add a fixer.
Make up lips
To have a pretty colorful mouth in summer, you can banish glosses from your kit. Start by applying a small layer of lip balm (with sun protection), then apply a very thin layer of loose powder or a base, then a layer of long-lasting lipstick.
Secure the set
Once your makeup session is over, don’t forget the setting step to avoid touch-ups every 20 minutes. Simply drop a light veil of translucent loose powder on the face, then spray on a makeup fixer, or just a refreshing mist. There are protective versions, for a 2 in 1 effect all day long.
