In fine weather, when you want to pay attention to your figure, you usually prepare a good salad. However, the seasoning we add to it can spoil all our efforts. To be sure to have a completely balanced dish, discover our tips for lighten a vinaigrette sauce.
The “traditional” recipe for a vinaigrette is made up of two tablespoons of oil, one of vinegar, a little mustard, salt and pepper. To lighten it, replace half of the oil with water and voila!
Cottage cheese sauce
Forget the oil and go for yogurt or 0% cottage cheese. For a tasty sauce, add a little mustard, lemon juice, parsley, salt and pepper. Depending on the dish, you can vary the spices and add curry, Provence herbs or basil.
For a light salad with Asian flavors, consider soy sauce. Mixed with mustard and balsamic vinegar, it will enhance the taste of your dishes without adding too many calories. Depending on the recipe cooked, you can also add a little ginger.
Sometimes a simple net of lemon on a salad is enough to add pep’s! The trick is also valid with the grapefruit, the’blood orange, the lime where the passion fruit. You can optionally add a touch of mustard to spice it up.
Finally, to lighten a sauce, bet on cornstarch. Dissolve the cornstarch in a little water, heat in a saucepan and stir until the mixture thickens. Prepare your usual recipe, based on oil, vinegar and mustard, and add the cornstarch. You will thus obtain twice as much sauce with the same amount of oil and therefore half the fat per spoonful served.
