1. Treat makeup removal
It is the first gesture of beauty. It is essential for removing dust, dead cells, sebum, sweat, and makeup. It is the assurance of keeping a fresh complexion with or without makeup. Choose products that respect the pH of the skin.
2. Bet on double sun protection
The advice of Dr. Catherine Laverdet, a dermatologist: if you are exposed to UV, apply a day cream with SPF in the morning, then choose a foundation with SPF as well. This will help you better fight against the signs of aging.
3. Get off to a good start
Before applying your foundation, smooth your skin texture with a smoothing base that reduces the appearance of large pores on mature skin. You can apply it only to the area that needs it.
4. Have a light hand on the powder
Avoid marking your wrinkles with the powder.
If you are prone to glow, place a veil of powder only on the tip of the nose or the forehead.
5. Dare to contour
This chiaroscuro game allows to reshape the face by optical effect. You can give your cheekbones a more plump effect thanks to dedicated powders or creams, which combine the right colors.
6. Illuminate shadow areas
Not only dark circles but also nasolabial folds, the top, and bottom of the lip, to erase signs of fatigue.
7. Avoid lines
Think about blending foundation or tinted cream in the neck and stretching it to the neckline, to avoid accentuating the features
8. Touch up
If you need to reapply foundation, soak up sweat and sebum with mattifying paper before reapplying the product. Otherwise, you risk excess thicknesses and bundles which accentuate the signs of aging.
9. Erase everything for the evening
After 8 hours of makeup, your complexion may have turned. If you go out, remove all makeup from your face, then redo your complexion from A to Z.
10. Don’t skip the night ritual
After careful makeup removal, apply a treatment with different active ingredients, to complement each other, rather than your day cream, especially if it contains an SPF.
