Declare your pregnancy to Social Security and CAF
You must make this declaration within the first 14 weeks of amenorrhea (SA) of your pregnancy. Since September 2015, you no longer need to complete the form and send it to your CPAM center. It is the doctor who takes care of it directly online. The Health Insurance Fund (CPAM) will then directly notify the Family Allowance Fund (CAF). If your doctor cannot do this online, he will give you a paper declaration containing three sheets: you must send the first two to CAF, the third to CPAM.
Covered medical costs and social benefits
This formality is essential to be able to benefit from the coverage of medical costs related to your pregnancy and any social benefits. You may be entitled, depending on your income, to the Early Childhood Care Benefit (PAJE). The time to register for the maternity ward depends on where you live. In Île-de-France, it is strongly recommended to reserve a place as soon as the pregnancy test is positive. Declare your pregnancy to your employer
The law does not impose any time limit to notify your employer of your pregnancy. However, it is in your best interest to talk to him about it quickly enough so that you can benefit from working conditions adapted to your state and so that the company can organize itself (replacement during your maternity leave…).
You must inform it by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt, attaching a medical certificate, proof of your pregnancy.
Generally, expectant mothers notify their employer within the same timeframe as Social Security and CAF, ie around the third month.
