Notice to consumers who have recently purchased a bag of U brand frozen peppers.
As a precautionary measure, the U Enseigne cooperative is indeed recalling a batch of frozen peppers, due to a “Microbiological non-compliance”.
This is the batch named “trio of peppers in strips”, Which introduces itself in the form of a sachet of 600 grams, provided with barcode 3256225427833, batch number L: 28883032 03 45M 74, and whose use-by date is set at 12/31/2022. The whole lot is withdrawn from the market. Some of these products having been marketed before the withdrawal measure, U stores recommend that people who may have this product not to consume it and destroy it, or bring it back to the store for a refund.
Salmonella having been found in a sachet from this batch, the risk is therefore that other bacteria of this type are present in other sachets of the same batch. “Foodborne illnesses caused by salmonella result in gastrointestinal disturbances often accompanied by fever within 48 hours of consuming the contaminated products. These symptoms may be aggravated in young children, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly.”, Specify the U stores in a press release. Note that the brand has omitted pregnant women, who are also at risk.
If these foods have been consumed and in the event of symptoms suggesting a salmonella infection, it is advisable to consult a doctor and report this consumption to him. Consumers wishing to know more are invited to contact the Consumer Service on 09 69 36 69 36 (call not surcharged).
