Before thinking about the glitter that you will put on your face, there are some usual precautions to take to maintain your skin. Always think of you refresh the face. All products that grease the skin are to be banned: they soften the epidermis and prevent eyeshadows from setting.
Don’t you want to look exhausted even before the festivities start? As in your daily routine, don’t forget tomoisturize your skinwho will need it to last until the early hours of the morning. This is not the time to try to “replenish” it or to inflict a basic treatment. Choose a featherweight moisturizer that works best for her.
Mate the shine
During the holidays, our skin is not immune to the sweat. To subdue shine, from combination to oily skin, use an anti-shine and unifying smoothing primer before applying your foundation. It will allowfade large pores and irregularities.
Then apply your usual foundation and a light golden powder on the cheekbones, browbones, chin, and forehead. Secure everything by laying down a veil of transparent fixing powder using a brush. Do not hesitate to make small alterations during the evening. The golden powder willreduce pallor which emphasizes fatigue.
Hide your imperfections
We always tend to focus on our little imperfections. That little button that goes unnoticed by your friends can quickly become your worst nightmare when the festivities are in full swing. To avoid unwanted trips to the mirror, anticipate camouflaging your imperfections as well as possible.
Beyond the use of a concealer corrector, makeup artist Joséphine Bouchereau recommends applying a powder with the puff, by pressing it on the skin, in particular at zone T. To best camouflage, your imperfections: “Emphasize your eyes with a sustained smoky effect or by opting for a line of the colored liner”, suggests the makeup artist.
If you have redness, do not try to neutralize them with a green base, it makes the complexion dull. Just choose a foundation and concealer neutral beige or golden beige, not pinkish beige.
Go for a bright red on the lips
“For the holidays, opt for a bright red on the mouth, in satin texture or even really glossy, to create a flash of light on the face. This makes it possible to overshadow any bad looks ”, advises Olivier Tissot. To find the right shade, test it without wearing makeup. “If it gives you shine, it’s good. If your imperfections stand out, zap,” adds Julia Knafo.
From the first glass of champagne, your red has already disappeared or, no luck, the morphology of your lips means that you “eat” your red? It is not inevitable. A well-made-up mouth is first and foremost a mouth well hydrated and smoothed. To optimize the hold of your lipstick, start by sketching your bare lips with a matte pencil. All the inside of the lips, not just the outline. Note that the holding of lipsticks differs according to brands.
Light up your eyes
Do not hesitate to add a line of pencil or liner flush with the eyelashes : black, brown or plum. This densifies the fringe of the eyelashes and gives character to the look. Apply a pearly shadow which brings fantasy and a lot of light. Pat with your finger for a natural finish. “The golden, brown, and plum tones are very flattering. At any age, you can afford it”, recommends Joséphine Bouchereau.
Strong trend of the moment: very flashy liners or eyeshadows: whatever the color (blue, green, etc.), the complexion must be unified, and make-up on the lips is lightened (no strong color or very marked shine) to avoid the “too much” effect.
Complete with mascara and don’t forget the eyebrows. They are essential for enhancement. If necessary, fill in the holes with a pencil and brush them up and out.
For special occasions, always favor the waterproof mascara. If your eyes don’t tolerate waterproof makeup remover, first apply a coat of classic mascara, then apply a second coat of waterproof mascara just on the tips of the lashes.
